Pancasila Jadi Alternatif di Dunia

WIB SURABAYA--MIOL: Ahli perdamaian dan pengga- gas Jurnalisme Damai (JD), Prof Johan Galtung berencana ke Indonesia untuk membicarakan masalah Pancasila dan globalisasi, dalam seminar di Jakarta, 16 Oktober mendatang.

"Beliau selama ini memang menjadi corong untuk mengobarkan Pancasila di seluruh dunia. Karena itu, beliau bersedia memenuhi undangan kami untuk menjadi pembicara seminar," ujar budayawan Sunardi, di Surabaya, Minggu (20/8).

Menurut dalang kondang itu, Pancasila sudah dijadikan alternatif di dunia, karena merupakan ideologi alternatif di tengah sosialisme-komunis dan kapitalisme-imperialis yang terbukti merusak dunia.

"Jadi, dunia internasional mengakui Pancasila meru- pakan jawaban untuk globalisasi. Karena itu, saya meyakini globalisasi itu diarahkan untuk menghan- curkan Pancasila dan UUD 1945," ucapnya.

Menurut Johan, Pancasila dihancurkan dengan otono- mi daerah yang merusak persatuan, demokrasi lang- sung yang merusak musyawarah, serta budaya materialisme melalui berbagai cara, baik media massa maupun gaya hidup hedonis yang dikampa- nyekan terus-menerus.

"UUD 1945 juga dihancurkan dengan mendorong amendemen yang tidak masuk akal. Amerika sendiri melakukan amandemen dalam waktu puluhan tahun, tapi UUD 1945 justru diamendemen dalam tempo tiga tahun dengan empat kali amandemen. Apa itu tak bermaksud merusak," ungkapnya.

Oleh karena itu, kembali pada Pancasila dan UUD 1945, tak dapat ditawar-tawar lagi. Amendemen UUD 1945 itu tidak sah, kata Johan, karena bukan ketetapan MPR, belum ada dalam Lembaran Negara, dan dilakukan tanpa meminta pendapat rakyat.

Menyikapi hal itu, Forum Inteligensia Pancasila (FIP) yang merupakan bagian dari Gerakan Revolusi Nurani (GRN) akan mengadakan seminar tentang Pancasila dan Globalisasi dengan mengundang Prof Johan Galtung pada 16 Oktober mendatang.

Banyak negara yang mendukung Pancasila dengan melakukan berbagai adopsi. Tapi ada pula negara yang membenci Pancasila dengan melakukan berbagai upaya mengubur Pancasila.

"Karena itu, kedatangan Prof Johan Galtung yang sudah lama mengampanyekan Pancasila sebagai ideologi alternatif di dunia itu, merupakan hal sangat strategis," tegasnya

Tentang Prof. Johan Galtung

Johan Galtung (born October 24, 1930, in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian professor, working at the Transcend Institute. He is seen as the pioneer of peace and conflict research and founded the PRIO -International Peace Research Institute in Oslo. He is also one of the authors of an influential account of news values, the factors which determine coverage given to a given topic in the news media. Galtung also originated the concept of Peace Journalism, increasingly influential in communications and media scholarship.

After founding the institute, Galtung, became head of research until 1966 and eventually Director in 1970. In 1964 he founded the Journal of Peace Research. From 1969 to 1977 he was the first pro- fessor of peace and conflict research in Scandi- navia, employed at the University of Oslo. He has also had a lot of professorates at worldwide Uni- versities, including Santiago in Chile, at the UN- university in Geneva, and at Columbia, Princeton and the University of Hawaii in USA. He has also been entitled an emeritus at several other academic institutions.

Galtung in Public and His Works
Galtung has had several positions of trust in international research councils and has been an advisor to several international organisations. Since 2004 he is member of the Advisory Council of the Committee for a Democratic UN. Moreover he has also written large quantities of empirical and theoretical articles, especially treating with issues of peace and conflict research. His works is engraved with his special ability of expression and his strong will of innovation and interdiscipline. Galtung is frequently referenced in regard to concepts he introduced, or at least is commonly associated with:

  • Structural violence -widely defined as the systematic ways in which a given regime prevents individuals from achieving their full potential. Institutionalized racism and sexism are examples of this.
  • Negative vs. Positive Peace -introduced the concept that peace may be more than just the absence of overt violent conflict (negative peace), and include a range of relationships up to a state where nations (or any groupings in conflict) might have collaborative and sup- portive relationships (positive peace).

He has also distinguished himself in public debates, among others problems concerning the developing countries, matters of defence and in the Norwegian EU-debate. In 1987 he was given the Right Livelihood Award. He developed the Transcend Method. In over 40 conflicts all over the world he participated as mediator, such as in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, the Caucasian area, and Ecuador. He has also advised Hawaiian sovereignty groups seeking to end what they see as a foreign occupation by the United States.
